Restoration:

Returning an old frame to its former glory can bring a valued art work back to life. Our professionally trained staff is able to repair and restore antique frames, including those with ornamentation, to their former condition. City Art custom made frames can also be used to replicate the ornate gilded frames of the European tradition to bring a heightened sense of history to your art work.

Using a range of new and traditional mould-making, finishing, ageing and gilding techniques we can repair damaged frames and so help preserve a small yet irreplaceable piece of history. Advice is given as to the type of work required by each frame, and how appropriate the frame is for the work of art it surrounds.
