Ella Hickford is an Aotearoa New Zealand-born artist and recent Master of Fine Arts graduate. Raised in Te Wāi Pounamu Westland, her passion for the environment and complex histories is reflected in her work that focuses on the ecology of Ōtautahi Christchurch and its surrounds. Hickford’s photographic interests lie in notions of time and place, highlighting socio-environmental factors impacting the world around us.
