Clutter – Lisa Patterson

The artworks in Clutter continue Patterson’s meticulous crafting of elemental materials, here wood and lead. Patterson is able to see the potential in any ‘scrap’ of material, a new purpose, the inherent aesthetics of it. This potential is explored in her artworks as holding devices and hinged wall hangings, formed from timber cuttings and recycled materials. Polished, carved and reimagined, these artworks make a kind of visual peace with the disorder Patterson sees in their daily home and studio life.
